Direct flights Athens 7US cities are expected to give a new significant boost to Greek tourism this year during the summer season. In particular, direct flights to Eleftherios Venizelos Airport will be operated from New York, New Jersey, Washington, Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago and Atlanta.
From New York. Three airlines will operate seasonal flights to Athens from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport. These are the airlines Delta Air Lines, American Airlines and the new entrant Norse Atlantic Airways. The latter, which is a low-cost carrier, will offer five flights a week from May to October.
From New Jersey. Another city with direct flights to Athens is New Jersey. Travelers will be able to fly from Newark Liberty International Airport to Athens year-round with Emirates. Also, United Airlines will offer seasonal flights starting in March.
From Washington. Washington, D.C.-area travelers will have a direct flight from Dulles International Airport (IAD) to Athens starting this spring. United Airlines has announced that it will operate daily flights from April to October.
From Boston. Another city that will have a direct connection with Greece is Boston. Delta Airlines will operate daily direct flights from Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) to Athens starting in April.
From Philadelphia. Travelers to Philadelphia will have direct flights to Athens via American Airlines. The airline will offer flights from Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) from May through September.
From Chicago. Direct flights to Athens this summer will be operated by:
American Airlines, which will once again offer seasonal flights from Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) to Athens. Flights will be daily from May to October.
United Airlines announced a new route to Athens, with daily flights, from the end of May to August.
From Atlanta. Finally, American travelers will be able to fly from Atlanta to Athens with direct Delta Airlines flights. The flights start in March and will be daily.
